Uninstall MSI with product id

I am trying to completely automate the undeploy/uninstall MSI steps via powershell so that an operator can choose an MSI to install and the script undeploys BizTalk, uninstalls MSI (without knowing where the previous MSI is), then installs the selected MSI, and runs the BizTalk deploy.

Is there any reason why msiexec.exe /X productId should not work? I have found the only way I can uninstall the MSI is to run msiexec.exe /X packageName using product code/id always seems to fail.

It seems as per usual I need to ask a question before I work out how to do it myself. It seems the issue was powershell not liking the uninstall string, cmd window worked so tried this command in powershell with much more success.

start-process -wait - filepath "MsiExec.exe" - ArgumentList "/X{productcode} /qn"
