btdfproj Project Type not known in Visual Studio 2010

Hi

I'm very impressed by your deployment tool and it works like a charm for the things I want to do with it.

However, when I create a Deployment project, it isn't added to the current solution.  When I try to add it manually I get following error message:
"The selected file cannot be opened as a solution or project.  Please select a solution file or a project file."

This is necessary, since I want to include everything in source control.

Kind Regards,

Hi,

Thank you!  I'm happy to hear that great feedback.

The Deployment Framework does not currently implement a full Visual Studio project type because the development time required to do it is too prohibitive.  To make everything tie into your source control integration, I recommend simply adding a Solution Folder to your solution named Deployment, then adding in the files in your Deployment project folder (minus bin/obj), and the XML file (only) from the EnvironmentSettings subfolder.  That way you'll get your usual checkout status icons, context menu integration, etc.

I hope that helps.

Thanks,
Tom
